Growing up in the 70s exposed me to a certain visual ethos of the era. At it's best it was the era of Chanel No 5, of Movado timepieces, of the Concorde, and it's dark sister the Blackbird. As a man inspired by the beauty of the female form it became inevitable that i would eventually start merging these elements into a world that soars above an increasingly fallen world. In this particular series i did sense a form of ying yang duality. The strong, masculine, brutish, brooding, and even phallic SR71 against the feminine. The interplay between them. In a sense this is a romance with the plane as a proxy for the male figure. I see the love and joy expressed in the feminine form as an inspiration away from the masculine form's darker nature....
